The PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) is the first part of PADIs Instructor Development Program (IDC).
PADI Assistant Instructors are dive instructors who help train divers, organize and supervision the development of theoretical knowledge, as well as activities in the swimming pool and open water. As a PADI Assistant Instructor, you work with PADI instructors to provide dive students in PADI programs with in-depth theoretical knowledge and diving skills. The teaching skills that Assistant Instructors acquire as part of their training also make it possible to carry out various PADI programs independently and, through appropriate training, special courses and the Emergency First. Response course to teach.
The AI training consists of theoretical, pool and open water units. You learn to use the PADI system in training and practice the teaching of practical and theoretical learning content.

- PADI Instructor Manual, latest edition
- Aquatic Cue Cards for OWD Confined Water and Open Water
- Special course elaborations „Targeting to Perfection“ and „Project Aware“
Prerequisite to participate:
Min.18 Years, PADI Divemaster with current membership (or equivalence), proof of HLW training no older than one year (e.g. FEF), current medical certificate, own equipment.
